The Jabez Smith House
259 North Road (Route 117) A Colonial Farmhouse The Jabez Smith House is an excellent example of 18th century domestic architecture. The one and one-half story, gable-roof structure with central brick chimney has remained virtually unchanged since c. 1783, when it was built by Jabez Smith. Deeded to the Town of Groton in 1974, the house was occupied by descendants until 1980. Historically, the house is significant because it is on the site of one of Groton's earliest settlements. Authentic 18th and 19th-century antiques are on display Hours: April 1 - November 30 Events
Tours may be arranged by appointment throughout the year.
